Toronto, Ontario, Canada. February 2018. After discovering my Instagram account, Zach Klein of Toronto based Paper Strategy, was inspired to have his daily knife revamped.
The composition of the tapered oval handle was strategically crafted by deconstructing the palette of the metallic tones lingering in the 18 month patina on the blade.
The results elevate the Tsutomu Kajiwara 165mm Funayuki, balancing the knife's "blue gritty texture with a polished piece of artwork for the handle."
Materials include: a yellow dyed spalted birch burl body, kelly green fiberboard and black acrylic spacers, and a violet bird's eye maple ferrule.
