Madison, WI, USA. October 2017. A couple of years ago, Yusuf lost his sister to breast cancer. Since then he's dreamt of having a custom knife that embodies a memory of her. So when Yusuf approached me in line at Yum Yum Fest, I knew that this custom had to be powerful.
Pink was definitely in the palette but so was blue, Yusuf's favorite color. Normally, I give customers the opportunity to see my design before it goes together, but Yusuf wanted to be surprised. And that he was - stunned, actually! The striking combination of color, materials, and style not only give it deep meaning but really lets this one pop!
Materials include: sparkly blue hybrid maple burl, hot pink day-glo + rhodonite + white fiberboard spacers, blue dyed cascara, and a polished nickel silver end cap.
